Chi parte, però, deve mettere in conto che è un viaggio di sola andata.Chi pensa che potrebbe avere qualche problema a reggere questo noir puro, ricco di corruzione — morale e non — perversione, brutalità, violenza e nichilismo, beh, questo libro non fa per lui.Il protagonista di questo romanzo è uno sbirro senza nome. È un cancro col distintivo. È lo sbirro con cui non vorresti mai avere a che fare. Il romanzo è lui. Lo sbirro. È sua la narrazione in una prima persona acida e implacabile. È sua la psicologia nichilista e aberrante con cui devi avere a che fare volente o nolente. È lui che ti arpiona allo stomaco con le sue parole violente come coltellate. È lui che ti sfida a seguirlo nel buio. Lui. Lo sbirro. Lo sbirro più fottutamente cattivo che esista.Sembra che Angelo Petrella abbia aspirato dall'anima del suo personaggio qualsiasi traccia d'umanità. Non ne è rimasta nemmeno una goccia. Il protagonista si droga per resistere a sé stesso. Si droga pesante, coca e pere. Beve parecchio, e quando non dovrebbe. La droga e l'alcool galleggiano nella sua perversione.
